A Strong History
Austin grew up in Florence, AL. He attended college at the University of Alabama on a Presidential scholarship, where he graduated magna cum laude with honors. Austin stayed in Tuscaloosa to attend the University of Alabama School of Law and obtained his J.D. degree in 2015. While in law school, Austin worked as a certified intern in the school’s Civil Law Clinic and won his first jury trial as a third-year student. He represented the plaintiff in the case, and the jury returned a favorable verdict for his client.
Austin began working as a law clerk for Pittman, Dutton, & Hellums after completing his first year of law school and continued in that role until his graduation. He was made an associate attorney with the firm shortly after being admitted to practice law in the state of Alabama. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, Middle District of Alabama, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
When not working, Austin is usually enjoying the outdoors somewhere with his wife, Natalie, and their dog, Cash. Austin has been selected as a member of the Birmingham Bar Association’s 2019 Future Leaders Forum, currently serves as a member of the Junior Board of Directors for Red Mountain Park in Birmingham, and is always looking for new opportunities to get involved with the community.
