Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C. is investigating a data breach incident involving QualDerm Partners, LLC that may have exposed sensitive patient information. Individuals whose personal or medical data was compromised may have legal rights and could be entitled to compensation.
QualDerm Partners, a management services organization supporting nearly 160 dermatology, skin cancer treatment, cosmetic, plastic surgery, and pathology practices across 17 states, reported unauthorized activity within its systems during the 2025 holiday season.
The company discovered suspicious activity on December 24, 2025. A subsequent investigation determined that an unauthorized party accessed certain systems between December 23 and December 24, 2025, and removed sensitive data during that timeframe. QualDerm has begun notifying individuals whose information may have been affected.
The specific information involved varies depending on the patient. However, the compromised data may include personal identifiers and medical information such as patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers, treating physician names, email addresses, diagnosis and treatment details, health insurance information, and in some cases, government-issued identification numbers such as driver’s license numbers.
Exposure of both identifying and health-related information can create serious risks, including identity theft, medical fraud, insurance misuse, and long-term privacy concerns.
Healthcare-related data breaches can be especially harmful because they involve deeply personal medical information. When this data is accessed without authorization, individuals may face not only financial risks but also reputational and emotional harm.
Even if misuse has not yet been detected, stolen information can surface months or years later.Companies entrusted with medical data have a responsibility to implement and maintain strong cybersecurity protections.
When those protections fail, affected individuals may have the right to pursue legal remedies.
If you received a notice from QualDerm Partners or believe your information may have been compromised, it is important to remain vigilant. Monitoring financial accounts, reviewing explanation-of-benefits statements, and watching for unfamiliar medical or insurance activity can help detect misuse early.
