Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C. is investigating a significant data security incident involving Healthcare Interactive, Inc., a Maryland-based company that provides dementia and Alzheimer’s care training programs. The breach, discovered earlier this year, may have exposed personal and medical information belonging to more than 87,000 individuals.
Healthcare Interactive, Inc., headquartered in Ellicott City, Maryland, reported that it detected a cybersecurity incident on June 18, 2025. After conducting a review with outside forensic specialists, the company determined that unauthorized parties accessed files containing sensitive information tied to current and former patients and employees. Notification letters were mailed to affected individuals on December 3, 2025.
In total, 87,565 people were impacted.
The compromised data varies from person to person. However, the information involved may include:
This combination of personally identifiable information and protected health information can place victims at heightened risk for identity theft, medical fraud, and long-term financial harm.
When Social Security numbers, medical records, and other highly sensitive data are exposed, criminals can use that information to open fraudulent accounts, access government benefits, file false tax returns, or even seek medical services under a victim’s identity. Once this information appears on the dark web, it can circulate indefinitely.
Federal studies estimate that identity theft costs consumers billions of dollars every year, and victims often spend months—or years—unwinding the damage. Those affected by this breach may incur expenses for credit monitoring, credit freezes, or other protective measures.
Individuals notified about the Healthcare Interactive, Inc. breach should take steps to protect their personal and financial security. Monitoring bank accounts, reviewing insurance statements, and keeping an eye on your credit report may help identify fraudulent activity early.
If you are a current or former patient or employee of Healthcare Interactive, Inc., you may have legal options and could be eligible for compensation related to time spent addressing the breach, financial losses, and the unauthorized exposure of your private information.
