DotHouse Health Data Breach Exposes Sensitive Medical Information of Over 185,000 Massachusetts Residents

Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C. is investigating a significant data breach involving DotHouse Health, a community health center based in Massachusetts. The breach has impacted at least 185,795 individuals and involves both personal and medical information.

What Happened In This Data Breach?

Between October 31 and November 27, 2022, an unauthorized actor gained access to DotHouse Health’s internal systems, compromising files that contained highly sensitive information. The breach remained under investigation for several months before its full scope was confirmed.

DotHouse Health recently published an Updated Notice of Data Event on its website and formally reported the breach to the Massachusetts Attorney General on July 14, 2025, and the Vermont Attorney General on July 15, 2025.

What Information Was Compromised?

The investigation revealed that both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) were exposed. Affected data may include:

  • Full names
  • Addresses
  • Dates of birth
  • Medical record numbers
  • Diagnoses and medical conditions
  • Prescription and treatment details
  • Health insurance claims and related information

The nature of the exposed data puts affected individuals at risk for identity theft, insurance fraud, and medical privacy violations.
