ApolloMD Data Breach: Investigation Into Patient and Provider Information Exposure

Pittman, Dutton, Hellums, Bradley & Mann, P.C. is investigating a major data breach involving ApolloMD Business Services, LLC, a physician-and clinician-owned healthcare group. The incident may have exposed the personal and medical information of patients treated at facilities staffed by ApolloMD-affiliated physicians, as well as information tied to certain healthcare providers.

What Happened In This Data Breach?

On May 22, 2025, ApolloMD detected suspicious activity within its IT systems. An investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had gained access between May 22 and May 23, 2025, leading to the exposure of sensitive files. Cybersecurity experts were retained, and law enforcement was notified.

On June 12, 2025, the hacking group Qilin claimed responsibility for the attack, boasting on the dark web that it had stolen 238 GB of ApolloMD’s data. Shortly thereafter, ApolloMD began notifying affected individuals and, by September 17, 2025, mailed out official data breach notification letters.

The compromised data includes both personal identifiers and medical records. According to the notices, affected information may include:

  • Full names
  • Dates of birth
  • Addresses
  • Diagnosis details

  • Health insurance information
  • Social Security numbers (for certain individuals)

This combination of information significantly increases the risk of identity theft, medical fraud, and insurance-related scams.
