- Jeff has devoted his over twenty-six-year professional career to representing plaintiffs in a myriad of civil litigations, specializing in injuries arising out of workplace accidents. He also regularly handles cases involving auto accidents, ATV accidents, defective products, exposures to toxic substances, medical malpractice, violations of the Civil Damages and Dram Shops Acts, wrongful termination from a job, fraud, breach of contract, and bad-faith denial of an insurance claim. Over the years, he has dealt with cases involving, among others, motor vehicles, ATVs, aircraft, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nail guns, power saws, punch presses, industrial valves and agricultural, logging and mining equipment. With regard to medical-negligence cases, he has handled matters involving chiropractic care, anesthesiology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, family practice medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, plastic surgery, radiology, general surgery, neurosurgery, urology, cardiology and pain management.
Jeff was born in Gadsden, Alabama. In 1977, he graduated from the University of Alabama. In 1981, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Cumberland School of Law and a MBA from Samford University. That same year, he was admitted to the Alabama State Bar. His initial employment was with a law firm that represented various municipalities, allowing him to try thirteen jury trials as a municipal prosecutor within in this first year of practice. He has tried over one hundred civil cases in state and federal courts throughout Alabama. He is admitted to practice in both the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits of the United States Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama Association of Justice, the American Bar Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubble. Jeff frequently lectures at CLE seminars.
