- Chris Cochran was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised by his parents, Tom and Barbara. After graduating from Vestavia Hills High School, Chris moved West to attend the University of Utah. He received Bachelors of Science degrees in both Psychology and Sociology. After graduation, he served as the clinical director for the University of Utah's Child Abuse Prevention program, TRUST.
- While in Utah, Chris met his wife, Charla. Shortly after their daughter, Cassidy, was born, they moved to Birmingham so that Chris could attend the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. During law school, Chris was an editor for the Cumberland Law Review, he was a legal research and writing teaching fellow, he was a Region V Champion in the ABA National Trial Advocacy Competition and he received a Medal for Excellence in Advocacy from the American College of Trial Lawyers. Chris graduated cum laude from Cumberland, receiving his J.D. degree in 1998.
- Chris started working at Pittman, Dutton and Hellums in July of 1999. He has since handled countless cases across the state. He has settled and/or tried to verdict cases ranging from Medical Malpractice and Products Liability to Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, and Premises Liability. In addition to these types of cases, Chris is currently working on a number of FELA cases, representing injured railroad workers. Chris is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Birmingham Bar Association, and Alabama Association for Justice. He is admitted to practice in both the State and Federal Courts in Alabama and has successfully argued before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
- Outside of work, Chris loves to read, snow ski and visit the beach. Also, he volunteers his time, talent, and money supporting Stage Door Youth Theatre Company, a non-profit youth theatre company affiliated with Children's Dance Foundation (CDF) in Homewood, Alabama. Chris also regularly provides financial support to the Alabama Youth Homes and WBHM - Birmingham's public radio station.
- Chris is extremely grateful that he gets the chance to be an advocate for regular people who have been injured or wronged through no fault of their own. His absolute favorite thing about being an attorney is when he is able to witness firsthand a jury render a verdict that is not only fair, but compassionate and true.
